The New Reign of McQueen
With the tragic loss of Lee McQueen to the fashion world as well as his own world, many feared what would happen with his line. Clearly, no one could replace him. But, Sarah Burton was put in those huge shoes. Elements of the dark, deep, brooding mood that Lee loooooved using, are clearly still evident in the collection. Yet, she managed to bring her own perspective, and a refreshing one at that....

Venetian Holiday
By far one of the best Vogue spreads of the 90’s. Filled with incredible styling (black & white polka dots anyone?) and one of the most beautiful supermodels of the century (Christy Turlington, of course) and a beautiful location, this sums up to one of the most visually pleasing editorials.
Fourth of July Outfit Planning
I’m not really big on the whole “patriotic” outfits for the 4th of July. But I saw this jumper and just couldn’t think of anything more perfect. To be honest, its Sonia Rykiel x DC Comics, so I guess that means it was designed for a comic book character, not even for American patriotism. But it has all of the typical 4th of July elements: red, white, blue, and stars....
What I Want To Wear All Summer Long
*Opening Ceremony Shirt, Jeffrey Campbell Wedges, Vince denim shirt, The Row shorts, Prada sandals, Jeffrey Campbell heels, James Perse dress & ASOS belt, Jeffrey Campbell wedges, Rachel Comey shirt, ACNE cut-offs
Stroll in Style
These fun Rochas “Fisherman” sandals are absolutely adorable. They come in a variety of tropical colors. I can just imagine them with a sundress, brown belt, and fedora. Vacationing in St. Barts or just strolling along the boardwalk.
Blushing Beauty
The newest shade of the season: Blush. Usually more pink than tan, this color is beautiful. It is soft and delicate, and can be an evening dress like Marchesa designed, or a “play” dress like Acne’s. Try and keep the styling simple, unless you’re into pairing it with black tights and leather jackets. It will harden the look up, but can look very cool at the same time....
Maximizing Your Time
As summer’s getting in full swing, people are turning towards maxi dresses to fight the heat. Perfect to cover your legs from the sun, and breezy too. Keeps you nice and cool, and effortlessly stylish. Paired with a sweater for night, and sunglasses for day, this piece is essential for the heat-filled summer that’s about to drop.

Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2011
What a fun collection. Lots of colors, bright leopard print, flattering silhouettes. In hard economic times like today, many people won’t be frivolous. These offer silhouettes that people know look good on them, but they’re fresh and exciting with the colors and patterns.
Fendi Spring '10
Absolutely beautiful purses, especially the last one. I am OBSESSED.
Gettin' Crafty
Designers like Chanel, Missoni, and Dolce & Gabbana are turning towards the age-old form of knitting to make beautiful pieces.
Marchesa...Full of Suprises?
Usually known for their beautiful, decadent red-carpet gowns, Marchesa suprised everyone with their most recent collection. They still did manange to pop in a few beautiful gowns that will definetely show up on the red-carpet, but interesting new ideas too.
1. Tribal Influence
2. Bright (Citrusy) Colors
3. Cocktail Dresses (as opposed to only red-carpet attire)
And just some other surprises,...
Chloe and Celine have a lot in common.
A lot more than you think.
For starters, they both have an intense love for all things black and leather (but not hard leather; soft, delicate leather)
They also love using various shades of tan in their clothing.
They love leather skirts, and I love that they love it. ‘Cause they make the most incredible soft-yet-hard leather skirts I’ve seen.
They know what woman want....
Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 Campaign
Love the models, love the clothes, love the styling. Not the most creative ad I’ve seen, this idea’s been done before, but still a beautiful ad campaign.

Summer Wedge
I’ve noticed that the shoe flanked by models and friends alike is the wedge. Typically the Espadrille or cork styles are the most common, but some designers have branched out to use wooden heels too. Here’s this season’s best styles.

2000 predictions
So today I picked up the Vogue Millennium issue for a few cents at a used book shop. While flipping through it, and thoroughly enjoying reminiscing over not-so-long-ago, I noticed a list of predictions for the “future of fashion.” It explained that “scuba gear becomes streetwear and Tom Ford runs for president.” While Tom Ford clearly hasn’t run for president (yet),...
Do It Yourself
Want that necklace?
So simple. Take a ribbon long enough to hang from your neck. Pick up a cheap stack of bangles (lots of colors and styles!) from a flea market or somewhere. Put them on the ribbon, tie a knot, and voila! Why would someone spend so much money when you can do this for less than $5?

PradaBook
Until I actually get around to buying the book (to add to my overflowing shelves), this website is quite fun to look at. Lots of pretty pictures, some Prada over time. Visually pleasing, but be patient, it might take a few seconds to load.
Doesn’t this Dior dress remind you of one of those Barbie birthday cakes, where the Barbie is stuck into a cake-shaped skirt?
Not a Waste
Usually I sign up for tons of email subscriptions without thinking, and then I just delete them every time they appear in my inbox. But the Topshop emails are definitely worth reading, and even clicking the links to further my shopping. Filled with new trends, and inspiring outfits, I just can’t help but drool over the images. And sadly they don’t come everyday. But you should all sign...

An excellent summer collection.
Ride Away
What an adorable bike!
Stacked
As shown by Reed Krakoff, Juan Carlos Obando, and Missoni, stacked bangles are in. Work lots of different colors and shapes like at Missoni. Or just do monochromatic in different shapes for a striking effect. Perfectly easy to do, just pick up a handful for a couple dollars at a flea market. When stacked, each individual one doesn’t make a difference, its the overall effect. The more, the...
Change It Up
3 outfits in one, pretty clever. Well technically 2, but I’m including that tan dress they’re wearing in the second picture.

Cover Me Up
For all those days we’ll be spending at the beach, we might want a tan, but definetely not a sunburn. So then, we need the perfect cover-up. Rachel Roy designed the effortless, knit dress (and skirt version too). Still clear enough to show off your new bathing suit, but still covers you up. Only problem, if you actually do lie out in the sun for hours, you might get an awkward striped tan...
Brighten Up
Kate Bosoworth and Gwyneth Paltrow rock summer’s hottest trend.
OBSESSSED
Saw this, couldn’t breathe. NEED that bathing suit, so badly. and am still majorly craving a pair of those alexander wang sunglasses.

Prada Over Time
So interesting to see how major brands and companies have evolved over time. I wasn’t able to find much ads before the late 90’s. The styling, the photography, the models, the inspirations; it all has changed so much. And, these aren’t all the ads, just my personal favorites.

The Perfect Tote
(Lanvin Amalia Quilted Tote)
Searching for the perfect tote, only wish it was a little more in my price range…
Side View
Seems like some designers (Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs…) are designing for the side. No need for the model to be photographed from the front, ‘cause all that’s worth seeing is what you see from the side.

Watch me
I’ve been wanting a bright, colorful plastic watch for over a year. Scouring for a cheap one everywhere, since I only wear watches for a couple months and then get annoyed with them, I couldn’t find any. But then yesterday, a friend recommend Swatch. Never thought about it before, but now that I recall my numerous trips to the airport version of the store in the Switzerland airport,...
oh marc!
Loved the ‘60’s inspiration. A clash between the little house-wife and the teenage daughter. Details of polka dots and scalloped, tiered skirts and chunky sunglasses–always pleasant to look at.
My personal favorites from the collection:
Jump Up
Craving the perfect jumper for summer. Loose, simple, and airy. Particularly loving the Vena Cava one on the left.
bandage pants?
Has Herve Leger moved on from the bandage dress into the bandage pants? Undecided whether its a good or bad thing…
an island called capri
So, I loved this photo. And, I couldn’t quite figure out why. Maybe the styling, maybe the black & white, maybe the model… But then it hit me, the pants! Capris are in again. That in-between length is the best. I bought a pair the other day, without even realizing that they might be trend. I love them fitted & cuffed, hitting just above a few inches above the ankle. I’d...

The absolute perfect summer collection.
