back to the farm
Looks like good ol’ overalls are back in style. Only the most unflattering, unattractive item of clothing one can own. Personally, I’ve been craving a pair for months. But I refuse to spend more than $10 on them. And I’ve ended up empty-handed. Guess that serves me right when my budget is so low? Sadly, it seems that the pants version are in style, not the shorts. The pants are...

skimmin’ through Interview mag, and guess who I find? Yup, Carey Mulligan! excellent spread. kinda artsy, kinda cool, kinda the greatest editorial of Carey. Her sleek new do’ that she’s been rocking for quite a few weeks almost makes me want a pixie cut. Too bad, I can barely get myself to cut off my split ends, let alone trim off about 20 inches. *courtesy of fashiongonerogue

hide me away
Sunglasses. my favorite accessory. I own a drawer full of them, but who doesn’t want more? This season, I was quite disappointed in the amount of glasses (just a handful), but I still managed to find some must-haves. So, the prada eyebrow glasses were quite clever. Kinda like sexy librarian, kinda just super rad. Nina ricci also had a stellar pair. Honestly, I am not exactly sure how to...

nina ricci spring 2010
only when re-looking at Nina Ricci’s Spring 2010 collection did I realize how much I loved it. It had everything I love: lace, flowers, ruffles, pastels, underwear as outerwear, and sheer fabrics. All of my favorite things! so to start off: ruffles, sheerness, pastels, & lingerie! all in one! so much of my favorite things. next, the details! oh they are so lovely and exquisite! check...

growing up?
j. crew, one of my favorite stores, seems to finally breaking out of its shell. Expanding into a whole new direction filled with metallic, fur, and tulle, J.crew has made a turn for the better. Many of its standard concepts were still there though. There are plenty of sweaters, plenty of tweed. I’m more in love with the overall looks instead of the individual pieces, but I’m sure when...

MiU MiU
this post has been much due, but schoolwork has taken over my life! miu miu. there is too much to say about it. I’ll try and restrain myself from letting all of my thoughts pour out onto this. my favorite looks from the collection: first, look at the colors. the colors alone are exquisite. so bright. so absolutely stunning.the orange kinda feels like drinking orange juice while sitting...

the fall collections were filled with cold-weather clothing. lots of fur and layers and knits. its kinda weird that we start to look at these clothing months before. we fantasize about wearing the fur coats as the temperature hits 90 degrees. it seems a little odd that as the sun pours through my window onto my shorts-baring legs, I stare at wintercoats and layers of sweaters. it was no surprise...

shoes that make me cry
i scavenged through the fall 2010 ready-to-wear collections and found the best shoes. wish i could own EVERY pair. from lace to crocodile to plastic to studs, the shoes this season were absolutely breathtaking. in previous seasons, it was the heel that blew me away, but this time, it was the actual shoe. a girl can never have too many shoes ;) from left to right: dolce & gabbana, balenciaga,...

militarism
I know the trend’s been out for a while, but seeing military-inspired jackets on so many different runways really made me want to get one. They seem to work perfect over dresses, or just leggings and boots. Some designers dressed up military jackets, but I just want a plain ol’ one. One from the real army maybe? Burberry and Marc Jacobs definitely had the best ones this season, so far....

chanel went ALL out this season. starting off with a look that was a cross between where the wild things are and eskimos, it didn’t feel like a chanel collection. But the tweeds and double looped c’s popped up and soon enough we were back to the good ol’ chanel, with a new twist of course. all of the cold references almost made me want to snuggle up with a cup of hot cocoa. but...

We're All Mad Here
in honor of tim burton’s alice in wonderland coming out tonight, I thought I’d share my favorite alice in wonderland spread. shot by annie leibovitz (one of my favorite fashion photographers), she captured wonderland, and showed off the beautiful fashion collections. Hopefully I get around to seeing the movie before it hits rental….
